You need DaVinci Resolve Studio. The free version doesn't let other apps talk to it.

The first time on a Mac

macOS asks before it opens an app from outside the App Store. Once:

  1. Open davinci-search. macOS says it can't verify it. Click Done.
  2. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down.
  3. Next to "davinci-search was blocked", click Open Anyway.

The first time on Windows

  1. If a blue "Windows protected your PC" box comes up, click More info.
  2. Click Run anyway.

Install on Linux

In a terminal. No password, it installs just for you.

Then, in Resolve

  1. In Resolve: Preferences › System › General › External scripting using: Local. Restart Resolve.
  2. Workspace › Scripts › davinci-search - Search opens the picker.
  3. Give it a key in Resolve's Keyboard Customization: search for "davinci-search".
